About

josh and lisa

Josh and Lisa in the Namib desert near Swakopmund, Namibia.

This blog documents the Peace Corps Namibia experience of Lisa and Josh from 2013 to 2015 and their travels after.

Josh and Lisa grew up on the East Coast, met in Washington, D.C. in 2003 and have spent the last six years living in Denver, exploring all the beauty that Colorado has to offer and volunteering in their community.

During their honeymoon in Puerto Vallarta in 2008, Lisa and Josh wrote down their “Five Year Plan” which consisted of dreams and goals they wanted to achieve. One goal was to buy house (which they did in 2009 and were featured on HGTV as they built a new bathroom) and another was to live together abroad. They began researching and found that Peace Corps service was a perfect fit – they could have a unique overseas adventure while helping others.

In July 2015 they completed their two years of Peace Corps service in Namibia and are currently traveling for five months in Africa and Southeast Asia.

We hope you’ll enjoy reading about their experience.

  1. Dear Lisa and Josh,

such an inspiring blog! I am a second year student from the Netherlands, doing research on the food culture and iron deficiency in Namibia. It would be really helpful to get into contact with you. I was wondering if you could help me out with a short interview via email?

    With best regards from Holland,
    Janina
